Avatar Cleanup

With the MyRedbook seizure, we have made a few more changes to our site in order to insure its acceptance within the confines of the United States of America. One of these changes, was to remove ALL nude/penetrating or grotesque avatars. All of these avatars have been returned to the default silhouette. Feel free to change your icon back to something less offensive. This will allow our users to be able to enjoy RubMaps at work, on the plane, etc..without fear that someone passing by will be displayed a penis or pair of tits on their screen. We will be actively monitoring the avatars re-uploaded, and repeat offenders will be banned.

I agree with this because,,,if i am traveling and am setting in the coffee shop at the motel and i pull up Rubmaps on the Laptop looking for local parlors, and there is a picture of an UGLY DONG or BIG BOOBS on my screen that somebody else put on there..An a lady behind says O that guy has Porn on his laptop.None of use would want to go to jail because one of our budies has a new picture we have not seen before..This rule is fine by me.

To daddy_freddie: this change has nothing to do with "political correctness". If the site has pictures on it that are considered pornographic (by LE, not by me) the site risks being labelled a porn site, increasing its chance of being shut down. Shut down like RB just was. There are thousands of sites to see pictures, but rubmaps is rare, maybe unique, in the info sharing we do here. Let's not risk losing that.

I don't think it has anything to do with offending anyone. Some of us might like to sneak a peek on RM here and there when we're at work or somewhere in public, and we can't really do that if there's a risk of a vagina or facial close-up or etc. at every click.

Mongo: This Avatar cleanup is really going to far. I guess the political correctness does not escape Rubmaps now either, and as is a reflection of modern day society the many have to suffer for the few that don't have the mental discipline to be discreet in their daily affairs. I really used to enjoy this website because it was a place where men could be men, the pictures people posted did not bother me...with this I have to ask are you going to start censoring the reviews too because someone might look over someone's shoulder while someone is at work, on a plane etc? It won't surprise me if you tried that as well. In my opinion it was a BAD decision on the part of Rubmaps to cow-tow to the PC madness. Roy

"Repeat" offenders??? If it had not been previously prohibited, then there was no first time offense! Besides, I don't think that the site should be designed so as not to offend strangers because I think it odd that anyone would visit the site with strangers around!
