Though gonorrhea and Chlamydia are unlikely, performers of the deed are at risk from herpes, HPV or syphilis because those STDs can be on the skin and lining of the vagina.

If you have cold sores yourself, you might be giving the receptive partner HSV-1, generally known as cold sores. ThatÃ¢â¬â¢ll make a kitty look less appetizing.

However, the risks of DATY are considered low compared with sexual intercourse, either vaginal or anal according to the Health Magazine article.

Be warned though, if you are going to go down there, avoid it if you have a cut or open sores on your lips or inside your mouth, and if you have bleeding gums. These conditions will marginally increase risks of catching an STD.

Also, some people use dental dams or a plastic wrap to cover the area, and others will cut a condom in half. These techniques and safety precautions reduce risk but my also cut down sensation.

Just want to toss in my 2 cents to this conversation. Not all FS girls are being trafficked. They are willing participants and can leave whenever they want. They entered into this business arrangement of their own free will. They knew what the "repayment" plan was and they know the penalty for failure. Many of the girls are housed in a central location ie; Los Angeles, San Francisco or some other large metropolitan area. From there they are moved around to smaller communities on a regular basis, usually 3-4 weeks at a time. If the police catch them, they will disappear into another city, but always under the watchful eye of a "chaperone". The shops are not locked down, they girls are allowed to move about outside, but no one tries to leave, they have family in China that are the collateral for their transaction. Once the debt has been repaid, they are free to go. They do earn and keep some of their money, it's just a matter of how soon do you want to repay the debt. Most will continue to stay in the U.S. and practice the only trade that they know how to do. It's a rough life style but they will do anything for a chance to move out of China and live in the U.S. This is something that we might have a difficult time getting our heads around but it's all about cultural differences and thatis an entirely different conversation.

Pretty broad generalizations, papercup. I know several FS providers who are not being trafficked. They either like the bigger tips or have their own kink about sex with many men. The following is a medical perspective: You should only DATY if you like to pick up STDs or don't care because you already have them. You should assume that reviewers who post about BBFS, BBBJ, or DATY have STDs or will soon. Do you really want to follow that guys FS with no protection? Yes, there are risks. But cunnilingus is relatively low in risk. Fear mongering is rampant when it comes to std's, so it's important to be rational and look independently at the facts/statistics so that you don't just buy into the hysteria pointlessly. The scariest thing to me about DATY is if they do have genital herpes, but there is no current outbreak, you think you are safe because there is no visible sign.
