The cameras were placed there under a warrant so there should not be a legal problem. To get the warrant they questioned a few guys observed leaving the area, pulled over by a traffic cop, to get cause for the warrant, All guys questioned confirmed that they got HJ there.

I think decriminalization of prostitution (as was often the case with pot) is a better approach than legalization. I agree that trafficking can be overblown (some protesters say that all prostitution is slavery- i disagree), however, I think that trafficking is a bigger problem than you postulate. LE should focus their resources on combating that rather than the girls or johns.

Maybe this is the turning point. Kraft is worth north of $6 billion. Maybe someone like him could finally put the funds to work to legalize sex work - at least a state by state initiative like legalizing pot. Of course he'd have to backchannel the money so it doesn't trace to him. But it's long past due. Sex workers are stigmatized, johns are harassed by police who need better priorities and need to stop surveilling citizens (what if this were a non-massage; the police would have footage of ordinary citizens nude?). Key to this is over turning the exaggeration of trafficking. Trafficking is terrible but the stats are entirely manufactured on self-interested testimony of workers who get caught; and try to avoid criminal penalty. I don't blame them (their work should be legal in the first place) but trafficking activism groups then use this testimony to make fake data on numbers. We should be tough on trafficking but NEVER confuse this with non-trafficking sex work. I traveled to Australia a few years ago. Sex work was perfectly legal. The women were happy; they were not stigmatized. No one cared. There was no surrounding crime around it; no drug use that I could see. Remnant of our puritannical society persist and its well past time to let consenting adults do what they choose.

Orchids of Asia Fyi. Day Spa (Yelp) New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft was charged earlier today with two counts of soliciting prostitution in Jupiter, Florida. According to Jupiter police, the solicitation happened at Orchids of Asia Day Spa, which was used for prostitution and human trafficking. Kraft was reportedly captured on video on at least two occasions receiving “services” by workers there. Kraft was one of 25 people charged with solicitation after a months-long investigation into the spa. The spa’s Yelp page was immediately bombarded with unfunny jokers in Patriots avatars, but a deeper look reveals that at least one customer knew of the spa’s propensity toward prostitution.

This place made ESPN! Robert Kraft is being charged with solicitation. What is wrong with the Jupiter police? It doesn't look like anything happens here. How can you be charged with solicitation for getting a massage?

it says they have videotape of the sex acts from cameras that LE set up in the rooms. if this is the case, it seems to me that LE could be accused of pimping.

Interesting. The reviews here aren’t that great, but Robert Kraft certainly gives it 5 stars ... until he finds out it’s been under surveillance for 8 months with video cameras in the rooms.
